On 1st April, HERCA (Heads of the European Radiological protection Competent Authorities) organised a multi-stakeholder meeting in Paris. A COCIR delegation attended the meeting and presented the 2014 results of the voluntary commitment of CT manufacturer for the optimization of CT dose, which is the focus of the COCIR HERCA Task Force. The meeting has been very positive (see the joint press release here) and the results achieved by COCIR members welcomed by all stakeholders and HERCA Members. As the 5 year commitment is close to its conclusion, the discussion also focused on the way forward to improve the use of CT dose management tools and techniques by the professionals.

COCIR will continue in the future its cooperation with HERCA on CT dose optimizing and in the field of radiation protection.
