Passing of COCIR Secretary General

Brussels, 23 June 2021: It is with great sadness and consternation that the COCIR Board announces that its Secretary General Nicole Denjoy has passed away after a long and severe illness.

In this difficult time, our thoughts are with the closest family members and all their relatives.

Ms. Denjoy will be remembered by the many people she has worked with as a lovable and remarkable person dedicated to the common cause: improving access to health care.

After the establishment of the COCIR office in Brussels in 2006 and later in Beijing, Ms. Denjoy successfully represented COCIR for 15 years at European level and also internationally, in her functions at Business at OECD and DITTA.

The COCIR Chairman of the Board, Dr. Bernt Bieber, immediately convened the COCIR Executive Board, which delegated the interim management of day-to-day business to Annika Eberstein, Regulations and Research Senior Manager,  in accordance with the association's statutes.

The COCIR Board and the staff of the COCIR Secretariat are closely working together to ensure business continuity in fulfilling the association's obligations to members, partners and stakeholders in the healthcare sector.
