The drive for sustainability of healthcare systems is an imperative in Europe. COCIR believes that the innovative solutions developed by the Medical Imaging and Health ICT technologies have a critical role in addressing the increasing and unsustainable productivity, accessibility and affordability gaps. However, at the same time European Public Authorities, which have reduced budgets while facing increasing demands, often view healthcare technology as a cost, rather than a solution and opportunity to improve quality, safety and the efficiency of healthcare systems.

This is why COCIR decided in April 2012 to create a dedicated Business and Innovation Committee which is focusing on key strategic directions. This Business and Innovation Committee is composed of Business Executives from corporate company members.
