COCIR MEDICAL IMAGING MARKET INTELLIGENCE

Since COCIR was regrouping more than 80 % of the Medical Imaging sector in Europe, it was decided in 1995 to build a customized database to collect on a quarterly basis sales and orders and, for some modalities, numbers of units.

This tool evolved over time and now is a web-based application which collects data on more than 10 medical imaging modalities* in over 90 countries in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia, Central and South America. Those five databases are directly populated by central offices of our Corporate Medical Imaging companies. 

COCIR is the only organisation generating such accurate data of medical imaging modalities which gives a good source to better understand market trends. This source of information is crucial for our members as it gives them a reliable source of data.

The data for: Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine (MI), Ultrasound and X-Ray is now commercially available.

AGE PROFILE OF INSTALLED BASE

COCIR has been collating statistics and proactively supporting European Member States in monitoring their installed base of medical imaging equipment since the 1990s.

COCIR use these parameters to monitor any changes in the age profile of the installed base in European Countries.

The findings can be accessed through COCIR publications in 2003, 2009, 2014, 2016, 2019 and 2021.

The 2019 and 2021 publications include also infographics.
