International Cooperation

The European Commission, The United States of America,  the WHO, the OECD and international standardisation organisations have underlined the importance of a coordinated approach in a number of eHealth related areas: ICT standardisation, semantic interoperability (see SemanticHealthNet project), common indicators to facilitate eHealth benchmarking, IT skills of medical workforce, evidence collection, etc.

EU-US COOPERATION ON EHEALTH

The EU and USA signed in 2009 a Memorandum of Understanding focusing on interoperability and IT skills of the healthcare workforce and adopted in January 2013 a Roadmap on EHR Interoperability and IT Workforce Skills (draft).
